Since November 16, heavy floods and landslides in Khanh Hoa have claimed 10 lives, left two people missing and injured 19, according to the provincial People’s Committee. Eight of the deaths occurred in two landslide incidents on Khanh Le and Khanh Son passes, while another two people died and two went missing after being swept away by floodwaters.
The report adds that nearly 9,000 homes across 14 communes and wards were flooded, with average water depths of 0.3 to 0.7 metres. More than 7,000 hectares of rice fields and crops were damaged, and over 160 livestock and 11,000 poultry died.

Multiple key transport routes in the province, including National Highway 27C, Provincial Road 9, National Highways 27B and 27, Provincial Roads 8 and 5, Pham Van Dong Road, and the Yang Bay Bridge, suffered landslides. The province estimates total economic damage at VND 80 billion (approximately USD 3.04 million).
Forecasters from the Khanh Hoa hydro-meteorological centre said that from November 18 to 22, rivers and streams in the province could see a significant flood event. Rainfall from November 16 to 18 ranged from 80 to 250 millimetres, 30 per cent higher than the long-term average for the period.
