Colonel Nguyen Van Tiep, head of the Lam Dong Traffic Police Division, said vehicles travelling between Dalat and Nha Trang are being diverted to Song Pha Pass on National Highway 27, which connects Dalat and Phan Rang.
He added that Song Pha Pass also contains multiple high risk sections prone to landslides, so police have been deployed to manage traffic and ensure safety.
The closure follows a landslide at about 11 pm on November 16 on the Khanh Le Pass section of National Highway 27C in Nam Khanh Vinh Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, where falling earth and rocks struck a coach carrying 32 passengers, killing six and injuring 13.

On the morning of November 17, authorities in Khanh Hoa worked with relevant agencies to clear debris and handle the aftermath.
The 33 kilometre Khanh Le Pass is a major mountain route linking Dalat and Nha Trang via National Highway 27C. The pass section features sharp bends and elevations reaching 1,700 metres above sea level, and has seen frequent road accidents since it opened.
