The incident occurred at around 9.20 am in Put Hamlet, Hung Son Commune, during clear weather, when millions of cubic metres of soil and rock swept several kilometres across fields, burying crops.

Initial information shows that seven people were working on their fields when the landslide hit. By midday, officials had contacted four of them, while three residents of Put Hamlet remain unreachable.

Rescue teams have been unable to access the site due to its wide, scattered terrain and unstable, water soaked ground, which still poses a high risk of further slides.

From a distance, authorities can see farmland buried under soil and rock but cannot determine whether anyone is trapped.
