According to the provincial People’s Committee, the Cat Lai, Long Hung and Phu My 2 bridges will be developed under public, private partnership arrangements between 2025 and 2028.
Phu My 2 Bridge is projected to cost around VND 16.445 trillion (approximately USD 0.66 billion), Cat Lai Bridge about VND 12.564 trillion (approximately USD 0.51 billion), and Long Hung, Dong Nai 2, Bridge roughly VND 11.758 trillion (approximately USD 0.47 billion).
Dong Nai said current transport links with HCM City rely mainly on road, rail and waterways, with roads handling most traffic. However, rising volumes have overwhelmed key routes, including National Highways 1 and 51, leading to frequent congestion. Despite recent upgrades to ring roads and expressways, capacity remains insufficient, especially ahead of Long Thanh International Airport’s opening.
The new bridges aim to strengthen regional connectivity, improve transport capacity and support travel, goods movement and socio, economic development in both localities, in line with the Southeastern region planning framework and Dong Nai’s provincial master plan.
