
A tree falls during the storm in Gia Lai Province
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired an online meeting on November 7 with ministries and authorities from Hue, Danang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak to direct post-storm recovery efforts.
Dak Lak reported three deaths caused by collapsed houses and flash floods. More than 1,000 houses were completely destroyed, while six vessels anchored at ports were also sunk by strong waves.
Local power providers have not fully restored electricity as the low-voltage grid suffered extensive damage. Dak Lak has requested a support package of VND 200 billion (approximately USD 8.0 million) to recover from the disaster.
In Gia Lai, rescue teams evacuated 200 people affected by the storm.
As of 5 am the same day, Gia Lai recorded two deaths caused by roof collapses and falling trees, while two others were injured.



Typhoon Kalmaegi damages houses and other construction works in Gia Lai
According to the provincial civil defense authority, 45 houses collapsed, 2,412 lost their roofs, one boat was sunk, and three roads in An Vinh Commune were affected by landslides.
In Hoai Nhon Bac Ward, high tides flooded more than 3,000 coastal households, with water levels ranging from 10 to 40cm and reaching up to 80cm in some areas.

Quang Ngai reported three missing persons on Ly Son Special Zone, including one suspected suicide and two others who drowned while attempting rescue. Search efforts are underway. The province also recorded three storm-related injuries.
Many roads in Quang Ngai remain impassable, including Route 676 and the Dong Truong Son route, which suffered severe landslides.
