Russia sends 29 tonnes of humanitarian aid for flood-affected communities in Hue City on October 30.
Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko handed over the supplies, including 58 rescue boats, 1,000 sets of tableware, 1,000 blankets, 1,000 mosquito nets, 55 tents and canned food, to Nguyen Truong Son of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
Bezdetko offered condolences to the Vietnamese government and people over recent flooding in northern and central regions, and affirmed Russia’s commitment to continued cooperation on disaster prevention and response.
The shipment will be transported to Hue later on Thursday for distribution to affected residents.

Nguyen Truong Son thanked the Russian government and people, saying the ministry would coordinate the timely delivery of relief items to communities in need.
Previously, through the Disaster Risk Reduction Partnership, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment received USD 7.2 million in cash and USD 2.5 million in goods from 30 embassies and international organisations to support recovery efforts after storms Bualoi and Matmo.
As of 7 am on October 30, flooding centred in Hue, Danang and Quang Ngai had left 14 people dead, eight missing, and more than 128,000 homes in 90 communes inundated or damaged, while over 20 national highways were cut off by landslides.
