People transport relief goods to flood-hit residents in Danang City on October 29.

Since October 26, more than 128,000 homes in 90 communes and wards in Hue, Danang and Quang Ngai have been inundated, while landslides have disrupted traffic on 20 national highways. Railway services between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City through the region have been suspended.

Local authorities have evacuated nearly 7,900 households with almost 26,000 residents, from deeply flooded and landslide-prone areas, including 4,800 households in Danang, more than 1,900 in Hue and nearly 1,000 in Quang Ngai.

The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that although rainfall is declining, flooding may persist for another two to three days across the region, and up to four to five days in low-lying areas.
