The design plan for Gia Binh International Airport.
The State Appraisal Council has proposed that the government approve the investment policy for the Gia Binh International Airport project in Bac Ninh Province.
The project, developed by Masterise Group, aims to meet ICAO’s 4F standards and accommodate new-generation wide-body and long-range aircraft.
According to the investor’s proposal, the airport will be designed to handle about 30 million passengers annually in its initial phase, with a long-term target of 50 million passengers by 2050, serving as a central international aviation hub in northern Vietnam.
The master plan includes four runways arranged in two pairs on the northern and southern sides, separated by 1,800 metres to allow independent operations. The design also features taxiways, aprons, and technical zones meeting 4F standards.
Covering approximately 1,884 hectares, the project will operate for 70 years. The total investment exceeds VND 196.37 trillion (approximately USD 7.8 billion), comprising VND 29.45 trillion (approximately USD 1.17 billion) in equity capital and about VND 166.92 trillion (approximately USD 6.63 billion) in mobilised capital.
In phase one, by 2030, the investor plans to complete facilities capable of handling 30 million passengers and 1.6 million tonnes of cargo annually. Phase two, targeted for completion by 2050, aims to increase capacity to 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tonnes of cargo per year.
