Generous readers of Dantri/Dtinews have contributed a total of VND 969,133,628 (approximately USD 37,500) to support residents affected by recent floods in northern and central Vietnam, following the newspaper’s call for public donations.
Since early October, Dtinews has organised multiple relief trips delivering cash, rice, flashlights, furniture, and solar-powered lamps to flood-hit provinces including Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh, and Nghe An.
On October 9, a Dtinews delegation brought 10 tonnes of rice worth VND 147 million (approximately USD 5,700) and 150 flashlights to Thai Nguyen. On October 14, the team distributed six tonnes of rice worth VND 93 million (approximately USD 3,600) in Cao Bang, and on October 17, they delivered VND 200 million (approximately USD 7,800) in aid to Bac Ninh.
Dtinews has also worked closely with enterprises and charitable organisations to deliver practical support directly to households in need.
In Thai Nguyen, the outlet partnered with Vingroup to provide financial assistance for housing repairs and production recovery, helping residents rebuild their livelihoods.
In Nghe An, Dtinews coordinated with the PetroVietnam General Services Corporation (PETROSETCO) to donate tables, desks and solar-powered lamps to Yen Hoa Secondary School, enabling teachers and students to return to class after days of isolation caused by flooding.
Dtinews will continue collaborating with local authorities to accelerate post-flood reconstruction, including rebuilding bridges, equipping schools, and supporting families to repair their homes.
