Le Van Trung, a resident of Khe Ha Hamlet, reported finding the monkeys after they strayed into his garden. Local authorities later arrived at the scene to rescue the animals.

The monkeys were identified as a stump-tailed macaque weighing 4.6 kilogrammes and a northern pig-tailed macaque weighing 3.5 kilogrammes.
Both are classified as Group IIB endangered and rare species under regulations issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on wildlife management.
Rangers and the Huong Hiep Commune People’s Committee jointly released the animals back into their natural habitat.
