The Hue-Danang heritage train services are suspended due to Storm Fengshen on October 23-24
The Vietnam Railways Corporation announced that, due to expected heavy rainfall caused by storm Fengshen, the operation of the Hue-Danang heritage trains HD1/2 and HD3/4 will be suspended on October 23 and 24.
Passengers have been notified directly via SMS. Those who decide not to travel can return their tickets free of charge at any railway station within 30 days.
The heritage train service, introduced in recent years, offers tourists a scenic three-hour journey through the Hai Van Pass and the former imperial city of Hue.
The trains are especially popular with international visitors, who can enjoy panoramic views of majestic mountains and vast coastlines along one of Vietnam’s most beautiful railway routes.
According to the Central Hydro-Meteorological Station, on October 23 Danang city and its surrounding communes are expected to see moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rainfall. From the night of October 23 until the morning of October 25, rainfall is forecast to reach between 150 and 350 millimetres, with some areas exceeding 400 millimetres, accompanied by thunderstorms.
