Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper distributes six tonnes of rice to local households affected by recent storms and flooding in Cao Bang Province on October 14.
According to Hoa An Commune’s People’s Committee in Cao Bang, more than 1,531 households in the district suffered losses due to the impact of storms Bualoi and Matmo, with total property damage estimated at VND 40 billion (approximately USD 1.6 million).
Nguyen Xuan Toan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dtinews, said that upon learning of the severe flooding in Cao Bang, the newspaper immediately decided to allocate funds to provide timely assistance.
“Each household receives 10 kilograms of rice. Though modest in material value, this represents the heartfelt compassion and encouragement of our readers, helping affected families overcome hardship and rebuild their lives,” Toan said.
He expressed gratitude to Dtinews readers and benefactors in Vietnam and abroad for their solidarity and support for those hit hard by the recent consecutive floods.
Luan Chien Cong, Secretary of Hoa An’s Party Committee, thanked Dtinews and its readers nationwide for their generosity during this difficult time.
