Vietnamese authorities detain two Lao nationals after discovering 500 kilograms of narcotics illegally transported from Laos to Vietnam.
According to the Border Guard Command of Quang Tri Province, officers intercepted a suspicious tractor-trailer entering Vietnam through the Cha Lo International Border Gate at around 4 pm on October 5.
A search of the vehicle uncovered dozens of large sacks stacked in the trailer, labelled as fish feed. Inside, officers found about 500 kilograms of assorted drugs, mainly methamphetamine.
The two Lao suspects are being held for further investigation, though their identities have not been released.
Authorities are expanding the investigation to determine the trafficking network behind the case.
