In Xuan Ai and Chau Que communes, several landslides were reported, raising risks of flash floods and localised inundation. Overnight, authorities evacuated 185 households in Xuan Ai and Chau Que to safety.

In Yen Bai Ward, streets such as Nguyen Thai Hoc, Thanh Nien and Yet Kieu were submerged, with some areas over one metre deep, paralysing traffic and forcing residents to move belongings and evacuate at night.
“I have never seen the Red River rise so quickly, within just a few hours the water covered large areas,” said Nguyen Thanh Mien, a resident of Thanh Nien Street.
Pham Tien Dung, chairman of Au Lau Ward People’s Committee, told Dantri/Dtinews that more than 100 households in low-lying areas were also evacuated during the night. He added that while waters had begun to recede by the morning, residents were advised not to return until conditions stabilised.

According to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, one person was missing and three were injured due to the storm’s impact.
