According to a joint announcement from the ministries of Finance and Industry and Trade, E5 RON 92 fell by VND 370 to VND 19,610 (approximately USD 0.77) per litre, while RON 95 dropped by VND 440 to VND 20,160 (approximately USD 0.79). Diesel declined by VND 50 to VND 18,650 (approximately USD 0.73).
Meanwhile, kerosene rose by VND 80 to VND 18,620 (approximately USD 0.73), and mazut climbed by VND 70 to VND 15,200 (approximately USD 0.59) per kilogramme.
The adjustment marks a reversal after just one round of increases. Since the start of this year, RON 95 has been raised 22 times and cut 18 times, while diesel has seen 20 hikes, 18 reductions and one unchanged review.
The Politburo recently issued a resolution on national energy security through 2030 with a vision to 2045, targeting domestic refineries to meet at least 70 per cent of demand by 2030. It also called for greater private sector participation in storage infrastructure such as batteries, LNG facilities and oil depots on both land and sea.
