Pham Tuan Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Dtinews, attended the opening ceremony of the new school year at Vinh Thanh High School in Can Tho on September 5, where he personally handed 500 cards to local students.
Speaking at the event, he said that while the value of each card may not be large, they reflect the goodwill of Dtinews readers and benefactors who wish to share hardships and ease the burden on families as students begin the school year. He also expressed gratitude to readers and donors who have supported Dtinews' social welfare initiatives, including the health insurance card program.
At a ceremony to present 336 cards to children of Hanoi Blind Association members on September 13, Dtinews' Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan said, “We hope these health insurance cards not only help reduce the financial burden on parents but also serve as a shield protecting students on their path to education.”

Dtinews initially set a target of donating 1,000 health insurance cards for the 2025-2026 school year. However, after just over a month of fundraising, the programme received more than VND 1.2 billion (approximately USD 47,300) in contributions. As a result, Dtinews allocated the entire fund to provide 2,006 cards and scholarships to disadvantaged students.
Over the past four years, the initiative has donated a total of 7,060 health insurance cards to disadvantaged students in various provinces and cities.
Dtinews expressed hope to continue receiving support from readers, benefactors and organisations to bring more meaningful programmes to the community.
