According to Hanoi’s Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board, the trees will be cleared from September to December this year.
Among the trees, around 2,230 will be cut down, including 1,990 acacias. The rest include royal palms, chinaberry, golden shower, longan, guava, dracontomelon, and others. These are non-urban species or urban trees deemed deformed, decayed, old or dead.
Meanwhile, roughly 780 trees will be relocated to be grown along roads, at schools, sports centres and commune headquarters.
