Construction is underway at Long Thanh International Airport project
The public-private partnership project will cover around 38.5km, with estimated investment of VND 65,000 billion (approximately USD 2.6 billion), excluding land clearance costs. It will be funded entirely by private capital from the consortium and its partners.
According to the proposal from the consortium, recently submitted to the Dong Nai People's Committee, the project would extend the existing Metro Line 1 from Suoi Tien Station in HCM City to Dong Nai's new administrative centre in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, spanning 6.5 kilometres. From there, the line would run another 27 km to Long Thanh Airport. An additional 5 km extension is planned to reach the downtown area of former Bien Hoa Town from the new provincial centre.
The metro extension is expected to strengthen regional connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Long Thanh Airport, while fostering transit-oriented development and smart urban infrastructure.
