All 16 elevators in the four-block complex are inundated and stop working on August 26.
Morning downpours left the complex with more than 4,000 residents from 930 households submerged. All 16 elevators in the four-block complex were inundated and stopped working. Residents took turns scooping water to keep one lift barely operational, while lobbies turned into pools.
Power was cut between 9 am and 10 am. Floodwater also disabled the underground water tanks, leaving the community without running water. Backup electricity for the pumps soon ran out, exacerbating the shortages.
By noon, reserves were exhausted, and the underground facilities remained underwater. Residents received food, drinking water and even inflatable boats from nearby apartment complexes, including Golden Time and Ecohome 2 and 3.

By 9 pm, the entire area was plunged into darkness after a complete power cut. Families resorted to makeshift lighting while wading through knee-deep water with foam boxes and boats to carry supplies.
Mai, a representative of the Ecohome 1 management board, said the basements were submerged under one metre of water, all the lifts had stopped, and residents were still relying on aid from neighbours.
Local authorities have yet to provide a solution, while many households are bracing themselves for living with the flooding until conditions improve.
