Representatives from Dantri/Dtinews and Phu Tho Province hold a groundbreaking ceremony to build five houses for disadvantaged families in the area on August 25.
At the event, Nguyen Xuan Toan, deputy editor-in-chief of Dtinews, said the new homes would not only provide shelter but also spark hope and confidence for struggling households.

“We believe that once completed, these five houses will give families a solid foundation to overcome hardship and move forward. From today’s foundations, love and compassion will continue to spread, building a caring and united community,” Toan said.
Bui The Hoa, vice chairman of Quyet Thang Commune, expressed gratitude to Dtinews' readers and benefactors for their support, noting that the homes would help families stabilise their lives and escape poverty.

Bui Thi Thanh, 63, one of the beneficiaries, shared her emotions: “I never thought my family would one day have a solid home. For years, during storms, my children and I could only cling to each other in a dilapidated house. Thanks to Dtinews readers and local authorities, my dream has come true.”
Thanh expresses her happiness when receiving donations to build her house.
Dtinews has committed to building 200 houses nationwide for poor households in 2024-2025 as part of the government’s programme to eliminate unsafe housing. Since April 2024, 218 houses have been launched, of which 145 have been completed.
