
Representatives from Dantri/Dtinews, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son Province, and local officials hold a ceremony to inaugurate 10 new houses for disadvantaged families on August 21.
Nearly VND 1.1 billion (approximately USD 43,000) was contributed by Dtinews readers to build the houses.
At the event, Dantri/Dtinews' Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan expressed gratitude to readers, benefactors, provincial leaders, agencies and local residents for their support.

“These houses embody the compassion of millions of readers nationwide. They not only provide safe shelter but also encourage families to escape poverty and give children a brighter future,” Toan said.
Nguyen Hoang Tung, chairman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, also thanked Dtinews and its readers for helping to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and improve living standards.

On this occasion, Dtinews presented each family with a housewarming gift of VND 1 million (approximately USD 40) and awarded 20 scholarships worth VND 500,000 (approximately USD 20) each to disadvantaged students in Tri Le Commune.


Longsbs Vietnam JSC also donated rice cookers worth VND 860,000 (approximately USD 34) each to the 10 households.

One recipient, Hoang Thi Nit from Tri Le Commune, who received more than VND 177 million (approximately USD 7,000) from readers to build her home and treat her two children suffering from thalassemia, expressed deep gratitude.

“I am truly moved and never imagined there were so many kind people. Having this new house and such warm support feels like living in a dream,” she said.
In response to the government's national campaign to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated homes, Dantri/Dtinews has set a goal of building 200 houses for poor and near-poor families between 2024 and 2025.
Since April 2024, Dantri has launched the construction of 203 houses, of which 144 have been completed to date.
On July 15, to mark the 20th anniversary of Dantri/Dtinews, various businesses participated in a ceremony to launch the construction of 20 additional houses, contributing to the overall goal of building 200 homes.
Alongside housing projects, Dantri/Dtinews has also completed 57 classrooms, 31 rural bridges and roads, 50 flood-resistant floating houses, organised 25 free health check programmes for over 6,000 people, distributed 5,054 free health insurance cards to underprivileged students, and launched fundraising campaigns for nearly 6,000 families in exceptional hardship.
