Police officers in Lam Dong Province return a lost phone to two Russian tourists
At around 12.15am on August 15, Beziuk Rostislav, 32, and Liudmila Dashinimaeva, 37, reported to Hoa Thang Commune Police Department that they had lost a phone while travelling from Phan Ri Cua to Hoa Thang. The device contained important personal data.
Major Tran Trung Hieu, head of Hoa Thang Commune Police Department, mobilised officers and equipment to search for the phone. Using GPS signals, police tracked the device to a location about 10 kilometres from the station and dispatched officers to the scene.
By 12.45am, police determined that a local resident had picked up the phone. After verification procedures, the device was returned to its owners.
The two tourists expressed gratitude to the police. Rostislav said he had travelled to many countries but had never experienced such dedicated and considerate assistance as in Vietnam.
