Hanoi–Dong Hoi high-quality train service launched

Vietnam Railways will officially launch a new high-quality passenger train service on the Hanoi–Dong Hoi route starting August 10, aiming to boost tourism and improve passenger experience.

The QB1 train will depart Hanoi Station at 8:05pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, arriving in Dong Hoi (Quang Binh Province) at 6:10am the following morning. In the opposite direction, the QB2 train will leave Dong Hoi Station at 3:20pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrive in Hanoi at 4:15am the next day.

The 13-car train set includes 6 soft-sleeper cars and 5 soft-seat cars, with each sleeper car offering 28 beds. Built in Vietnam by Jinxin Railway and Tourism Transport Company using Chinese technology, the train is equipped with Wi-Fi, adjustable air conditioning, 360-degree rotating seats, and in-bed entertainment screens.

Ticket prices are set at VND 620,000 (approximately USD 24) for a soft seat and VND 1,135,000 (approximately USD 44) for a soft sleeper. A 10 per cent discount will be offered on all tickets purchased within the first 10 days of service launch.

The new train model was previously trialed on the Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang route and is expected to become a key component of Vietnam’s strategy to improve rail-based tourism services.
