This year, Hanoi has become the country’s top travel destination for the September 2 holiday, thanks to the large-scale military parade scheduled at Ba Dinh Square.

Tour operators have reported a sharp rise in bookings for Hanoi and surrounding destinations such as Ninh Binh, Ha Long, and Moc Chau since early August.

Pham Anh Vu, representative of Viet Media Travel Corporation, said demand for tours around this year’s holiday has increased by 20 to 25 percent compared to the same period last year.

Many travelers began booking in June to secure hotels near key event venues. Accommodations around Ba Dinh Square, the Old Quarter, and Hoan Kiem Lake have been fully booked well in advance.

To meet demand, travel agencies are offering special National Day packages. Viet Media Travel has launched trips such as Hanoi–Ninh Binh with parade viewing (3 days, 2 nights, from VND 10.99 million) and Hanoi–Ha Long–Sa Pa–Ninh Binh (5 days, 4 nights, from VND 10.59 million).

Tours to the northwest region, including Tuyen Quang, Son La, and Dien Bien, are also popular, with prices from VND 11.39 million per person.

BenThanh Tourist has introduced nearly 30 tours for the holiday, including 4-day Hanoi–Ninh Binh–Trang An and Hanoi–Ha Long packages. These include two nights in Hanoi and a free day to enjoy the National Day atmosphere at Ba Dinh.

By early August, Vietravel Hanoi had filled nearly 40 percent of its 1,500 available seats for the holiday, with interest continuing to rise.

Tour companies advise travelers to book early to avoid sold-out flights and hotel rooms, especially in central Hanoi. For families with elderly members or children, full-package tours are recommended for better care and convenience.

On September 2, Hanoi is expected to restrict personal vehicles on multiple roads. Visitors should monitor traffic updates, wear comfortable clothing, stay healthy, and carry proper identification.

For those booking tours online, travel experts recommend verifying the organizer and choosing official websites to avoid scams.
