A New Zealand couple are still searching for a diamond ring lost in a park in Hue City.

Karl Weihelm and his wife Caitlin Mary are on a 9-day trip to Vietnam. While visiting 3/2 Park by the Huong River in Hue on July 30, the wife dropped a diamond ring presented by the husband.

They reported the case to the Thuan Hoa Ward police for assistance. Many people have joined the search for the ring, but it has yet to be found.

The couple look for the dimond ring in the park on July 31.

According to the husband, while strolling through a riverside park along the Huong River, they removed the ring to admire it under the sunlight. Engrossed in conversation, they didn’t realise when it had slipped off. It was only when they sat down on a park bench to rest that they noticed the engagement ring was missing.

Hundreds of local people have joined the search, which deeply moved the New Zealand couple.

This marks the first time the couple have visited Vietnam. They began their trip with four days in Hoi An after arriving in Danang, then spent three days exploring Hue. On August 1, the couple is set to fly to Hanoi before continuing to Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Karl Weihelm shared with Dantri/Dtinews that he bought the ring six months ago to propose to his wife.
