In the first half of this year, Noi Bai International Airport handled 16.5 million passengers and recorded over 100,000 take-offs and landings. During the phase, Terminal 2 handled over 7 million international passengers, surpassing its annual design capacity of 10 million passengers.
Between June and May, Noi Bai International Airport maintained a 74 per cent on-time performance. Most delays were due to airline operations (93.8 per cent), followed by weather (1.8 per cent), air traffic control (2.5 per cent), airport services (0.8 per cent), and other causes (1.1 per cent).
The airport is speeding up infrastructure upgrades and adopting new technologies to optimise flight operations and enhance passenger experience.
The Terminal 2 expansion project is being carried out in phases to allow continued operations during construction, with completion slated for late 2025. Once operational, the upgraded terminal will help ease overcrowding, offer more spacious facilities, and significantly improve service capacity.
Noi Bai International Airport rose 17 places to rank 79th in Skytrax’s 2025 list of the world’s top 100 airports.
