The crocodile is in its juvenile stage and weighs about 3 kilogrammes. It will be handed over to the forest protection department for further care and eventual release back into the wild.

According to residents living along Nuoc Den Canal, over the past two weeks, the crocodile has been frequently seen crawling onto a patch of land in the middle of the canal to bask in the sun.

Initially indifferent to human presence, the crocodile became increasingly skittish and kept its distance after a group of curious children tried to approach it with fishing rods.
