Jet skis pose safety risks to tourists at Sam Son Beach

Some unauthorised jet skis have descended on Sam Son Beach in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa, causing chaos and endangering tourist safety.

In recent days, Sam Son Beach has attracted large crowds of tourists who come to swim and enjoy summer activities. At times, the beach has been packed with visitors.

Despite the authorities’ ongoing efforts to ensure tourist safety, several jet skis have recently been operating at the beach without complying with regulations, raising serious concerns and frustration among visitors.

Unlicensed jet skis rampant on Sam Son Beach

According to travellers, these jet skis pick up and drop off passengers without following any regulations. This has left many feeling uneasy, fearing that accidents could happen at any moment.

Sam Son Ward People’s Committee Chairman Trinh Xuan Dung said that authorities had been made aware of the incident. He instructed concerned units to take action. At the same time, local authorities have been actively warning tourists against participating in the group’s unlicensed activities.

However, enforcement remains difficult as local forces lack specialised equipment, while offenders launch their jet skis from nearby areas before entering Sam Son.

To safeguard tourists, local authorities have directed concerned agencies to cooperate closely with the police and border guards to launch coordinated ambushes and detail the individuals involved.
