Submarines and naval air force to participate in National Day celebrations

Submarines, surface vessels, and the naval air force will participate in Vietnam's upcoming National Day military parade and activities.

Submarines, surface vessels, and the naval air force will participate in Vietnam's upcoming National Day military parade and activities, marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

At a meeting with the press on July 10, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of Defence, confirmed the full-scale participation of all branches of the armed forces. The parade will include marching infantry units and mechanised troops, with air and naval forces also on display.

"In addition to ground formations, the activities will feature tanks, submarines, ships from the navy, as well as units from the Coast Guard and Border Guard," said General Cuong.

In May, the government tasked the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Public Security with organising the parade and associated activities, which commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

According to the plan, the military will participate in 27 marching formations, 11 ceremonial contingents, and a display by the air force. The Ministry of Defence confirmed on July 9 that it had invited delegations from Russia, China, Laos, Cambodia, and Belarus to attend the event.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh has instructed the ministries of Defence, Public Security, and Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with Hanoi authorities to clear surrounding areas and upgrade Ba Dinh Square to ensure sufficient space for the large-scale celebration.
