The organisers of Miss Earth Vietnam made the announcement at a meeting with the Top 4 winners in Ho Chi Minh City on July 7.
My Anh expressed her surprise at the decision, but said although she has no prior experience in international competitions, she is confident in her potential and is committed to sharpening her skills over the next three months to achieve strong results for Vietnam.
According to Pham Duy Khanh, head of the Miss Earth Vietnam organising committee, while My Anh lacks experience, she possesses the qualities and potential needed to compete internationally.
“Our first choice was first runner-up Bui Ly Thien Huong, but Miss Earth has an age requirement of 18–28, so unfortunately she was not eligible. Second runner-up Linh Dan is currently focused on completing her final academic year and chose not to compete internationally at this time. That’s why we decided to select My Anh to represent Vietnam,” he explained.
The committee did not choose Tram Anh, Miss Earth Vietnam 2025, saying she still needs more time to train to meet the demands of an international pageant. She is expected to represent Vietnam at Miss Earth 2026 instead. Meanwhile, plans are being made for first runner-up Thien Huong to participate in another international beauty contest.
Trinh My Anh hailing from Hanoi has body measurements of 85-64-95cm. Previously, she was named in the Top 35 of Miss Vietnam 2022, and Top 36 of Miss Grand Vietnam 2024.
Vietnam has sent many outstanding representatives to international beauty pageants, with the most notable achievement being Nguyen Phuong Khanh, who was crowned Miss Earth 2018.
Other impressive performances include Nguyen Thi Le Nam Em, who placed in the Top 8 at Miss Earth 2016, and Do Thi Lan Anh, who earned the Second Runner-Up title at Miss Earth 2022.
