The 2025 Toyota Concert is set to return to the capital in late July, offering the public a captivating evening of classical music.

Toyota Concert 2025, to be held at the Ho Guom Opera House at 8 pm on July 26, will feature masterpieces by two great composers, Ludwig van Beethoven of Germany and Dmitri Shostakovich of Russia, conducted by the renowned Maestro Honna Tetsuji of Japan.

The evening will also showcase a stunning performance by violinist Bui Cong Duy, one of Vietnam’s leading classical musicians who will perform alongside artist from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).

Honna Tetsuji has worked as music director and chief conductor of the VNSO since 2009. He was appointed conductor of the Osaka Symphony Orchestra from 1995 to 2001 and was a frequent guest conductor of the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra from 1998 to 2001. Since 2021, he has been the Artistic Advisor to the Vietnam Young Music Academy (VYMI).

Violinist Bui Cong Duy, 44, is a graduate of the Tchaikovsky National Music College in Moscow. He has won several top prizes at international competitions, most notably first prize and gold medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in St Petersburg in 1997.

Duy has also performed in many European and Asian countries, including at Berliner Symphoniker in Germany and Capella Concert Hall in Russia. 

This year marks 30 years of Toyota's sustainable development in Vietnam. Alongside its business activities, Toyota has consistently contributed to social and cultural initiatives. Among them, the Toyota Concert stands out as the longest-running annual programme, reflecting the firm’ enduring commitment to nurturing sustainable values within the community.

Since its inception in 1998, the Toyota Concert has grown into a cultural icon to bring classical music closer to the public, both in Vietnam and internationally. Year after year, the programme evolves in both scale and quality, from the carefully selected repertoire to the talented performers, with the aim of touching hearts and fostering a lasting appreciation for classical music across all social strata.
