According to local authorities, the incident occurred at around 12.50 am on June 25 at the Bistro Fou Bar in Bai Chay Ward, as five employees were cleaning a water tank area in front of the main stage. All were standing in water at the time.

Witnesses quickly cut the power, pulled the victims from the tank, and called emergency services. All five were unconscious when rescued.
Medical staff administered first aid for about 30 minutes but were unable to save two of the victims, both aged 17 and from Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh.
The remaining three, aged between 16 and 17, regained consciousness and were taken to Bai Chay Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
