According to the Yen Bai Hydro-Meteorological Station, widespread moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing torrential downpours, was recorded across various districts and in Yen Bai City between 7 am on June 24 and 7 am on June 25.

Rainfall totals included 102.6 mm in Lam Giang and 57 mm in Chau Que Thuong (Van Yen District); 317.6 mm in Lieu Do and 293.8 mm in Muong Lai (Luc Yen District); 164.4 mm in Minh Quan and 152.8 mm in Hoa Cuong (Tran Yen District); and over 110 mm in Yen Ninh and Minh Bao wards (Yen Bai City).
Persistent rainfall triggered landslides in parts of Yen Binh, Luc Yen, and Van Yen districts, with most incidents reported along key routes such as National Highway 70.

In Yen Bai City, heavy rain caused a rapid rise in water levels, leading to flooding along several streets, including Le Van Tam, Dien Bien, Quang Trung, and Kim Dong. In some locations, floodwaters reached depths of approximately half a metre.
Authorities have forecast continued rainfall over the next six hours, warning of an increased risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas, along with landslides and ground subsidence in Luc Yen, Van Chan, Yen Binh, Van Yen, and Tran Yen districts, as well as in Yen Bai City.
Additionally, intense localised rainfall poses a risk of flooding in low-lying areas near rivers and streams, as well as in urban zones of Luc Yen, Tran Yen, and Yen Binh districts, and in Yen Bai City.
