Speaking at the ceremony, Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Nguyen Xuan Toan, said each house represents not only shelter from the elements but also a fresh start and a foundation for families to escape poverty.

Toan noted that in 2024, Dantri collaborated with local authorities and readers to build four houses for families in particularly difficult circumstances in the province. This year, the newspaper is helping six more families build new homes with total support exceeding VND 552 million (approximately USD 21,600).
“This is the result of the trust, collective effort, and community responsibility that Dantri is fortunate to help facilitate,” he said, expressing gratitude to readers, donors, provincial leaders, and local residents who made the project possible.
At the ceremony, Trieu Duc Dung, Vice Chairman of Van Quan District People’s Committee, said that while the district does have a housing support fund for the poor, many families are unable to provide matching funds, leaving projects unimplemented.

“In that context, the support of charitable individuals and organisations is incredibly meaningful. It encourages and motivates families to overcome adversity. We are deeply grateful to Dantri, its donors, and kind-hearted readers for their continued support,” Dung said.

Representing the six families receiving new homes, Hoang Thi Nit expressed heartfelt thanks: “I never imagined that Dantri readers would offer such generous support. Of the VND 164 million (approximately USD 6,400) we received, we’ll use part to build a new house and the rest to pay for treatment for our two children with thalassemia at the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion.”

Nit extended her gratitude to Dantri and its readers and donors for making the new home possible.
On this occasion, Dantri also presented 20 scholarships, each worth VND 500,000 (approximately USD 20), to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have excelled in school.

Additionally, Lama Ngawang Samten and other donors gave gifts and VND 300,000 (USD 12) in cash to each of the six families.
In response to the Government’s campaign to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, Dantri has set a goal of building 200 houses for poor and near-poor households nationwide during 2024–2025.
So far, 145 houses have been started, and 125 of them have been completed and handed over.
To reach the target of 200, Dantri calls on readers, donors, organisations and individuals to continue supporting the initiative.
