The event, led by Dang Tan Dac, Head of the Police Department for Administrative Management on Social Order, took place at the premises of Mien Tay Steel Joint Stock Company on June 22.

"I hereby order the destruction of rudimentary weapons and support tools received and collected by provincial and local police units. The destruction must strictly comply with regulations, ensure absolute safety during the process, and protect the environment," Dac stated.

Authorities sorted the weapons before feeding them into machines to be crushed, flattened, or cut into pieces before incineration.

Steel-based items such as swords and blades were cut or pressed flat before being placed in the furnace.

Similarly, firearms were dismantled, crushed and melted down. A destruction committee closely monitored the entire process to ensure the weapons could not be restored or reused.
