The incident occurred at around 3 am on June 19, when a 45-seat passenger bus collided with a lorry in Thang Binh District, Quang Nam Province.

The incident killed the bus driver and his assistant. Among the passengers on board, eleven were injured. Two suffered serious injuries, while nine others sustained minor injuries. All were taken to Quang Nam General Hospital for emergency treatment. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the crash.
Preliminary tests revealed no traces of alcohol or drugs in the lorry driver.
The Danang–Quang Ngai Expressway spans 139 kilometres, with four traffic lanes and two emergency lanes. It runs through Danang and the provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.
