Nguyen Gia Bong Street, built to mark the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s liberation, is now overgrown and strewn with rubbish, raising safety concerns for residents.

Plants and weeds have been left untrimmed, with some patches growing nearly as tall as the bus stop signs. In several places, pavements are littered with household waste and construction debris, much of it illegally dumped.

Large, uncovered holes have appeared along the roadside, posing a serious risk to pedestrians and traffic. Most are marked only with improvised items such as tree branches, wooden planks or pieces of concrete.

Residents say the ongoing neglect affects the urban landscape and makes the area feel unsafe, especially at night or in bad weather.
