
The northern region of Vietnam is forecasted to face scorching heatwave from June 1 following heavy rains.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the northern region will see significant rainfall from the evening of May 28 through May 29, with widespread showers and isolated downpours ranging from 30 to 90 millimetres, and some areas exceeding 180 millimetres.
The heavy rain is expected to subside from May 30. Hot weather will return around May 31 and intensify across the entire northern region from June 1, with peak temperatures reaching 37 to 38 degrees Celsius.
The heatwave is forecast to persist through June 5.
