
On the evening of May 26, hundreds of supporters gathered outside the W Kuala Lumpur Hotel, where the team is staying, arriving up to five hours early to catch a glimpse of the Red Devils.

At 8 pm, the team bus arrived at the hotel. Head coach Ruben Amorim appeared visibly pleased by the enthusiastic crowd that had gathered to greet the squad.

Midfielder Casemiro looked surprised by the cheers of fans shouting his name as he stepped off the bus. Manchester United will face the ASEAN All Stars, a team featuring top Southeast Asian talents, including several Vietnamese players such as Nguyen Hoang Duc, Duy Manh, Hai Long, and Van Vi.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes smiled and waved in response to the passionate reception from fans across the region. The match is set to take place at 7.30 pm on May 28 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

Defender Luke Shaw was also spotted exiting the team bus, greeted by a sea of red shirts and club flags.

Among the crowd was seven-year-old Minh Tu from Ho Chi Minh City, who traveled with his parents to Malaysia earlier that day and waited more than five hours in hopes of meeting midfielder Mason Mount.


Fans lined up outside the hotel with replica jerseys and flags, chanting "Glory Glory Man United", the club’s iconic anthem.

One standout among the supporters was Wooden, a fan from Sydney, who proudly displayed a Manchester United flag covered with autographs he has collected over the past 30 years.
"I’ve been following the club for over three decades. I hope young players like Garnacho and Mainoo will have a chance to shine in this match," Wooden said.

This marks Manchester United’s first return to Malaysia in over a decade. The friendly is seen as a rare opportunity for Southeast Asian players to compete with top-tier European talent.
