More than 800 cybersecurity leaders, experts, and innovators convened at the 7th Vietnam Security Summit 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, with discussions centred around strengthening digital trust and resilience.
Under the theme “Cybersecurity: Building Resilience & Trust in an Ever-Changing World,” the summit addressed pressing challenges and emerging trends in digital security. Key topics included data protection, cloud security, AI-related risks, and the resilience of IT infrastructure.
An exhibition alongside the event brought together over 50 Vietnamese and international firms, showcasing advanced cybersecurity technologies targeting next-generation threats such as AI-based attacks, operational technology vulnerabilities, identity and access management, and cloud security.
Vu Ngoc Son, head of the Research, Consulting, Technology Development, and International Cooperation Department at the National Cybersecurity Association, highlighted Vietnam's high risk of cyberattacks.

He cited data showing that Vietnam recorded more than 659,000 cyberattacks in 2024. Around 46 percent of agencies and businesses in the country have experienced at least one such attack.
Notably, 56 percent of State agencies and enterprises still lack adequate IT and cybersecurity personnel. The country is projected to face a shortfall of 700,000 cybersecurity professionals within the next three years.
This shortage has contributed to increased frequency and severity of cyber incidents, delayed incident response, and difficulties in maintaining secure digital operations across sectors.
“Cybersecurity is crucial to digital transformation. But human resources are the foundation,” Son said, calling for coordinated efforts between government, educational institutions, and private companies to close the talent gap.
The Vietnam Security Summit is held annually, providing a vital platform for public and private stakeholders to collaborate on building a more secure digital ecosystem.
