According to local authorities in Yen Nam Commune, Ha Nam Province, Hien died on May 21 after a long struggle with late-stage breast cancer.
Her story touched many hearts when it was featured on Dantri in late 2024, as she made a heartfelt appeal to kind-hearted donors to help her two daughters, both of whom suffer from mental illness. In response, numerous readers and benefactors sent gifts, financial support, and words of encouragement during the final months of her life.
Now that she has passed, her daughters, Nguyen Thi Ly (36) and Nguyen Thi Trang (33), are left without a caregiver. Neither of them is capable of living independently due to their mental conditions.
Hien’s family is appealing for continued support from Dantri readers and philanthropists, in hopes of securing a stable life for Ly and Trang in the difficult time ahead.
