Under the instruction of the Quang Tri People’s Committee, the provincial Military Command has co-operated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and other concerned agencies to implement the plan.
The demolitions must be carried out according to safety regulations and reported to the provincial people’s committee by May 25.
Quang Tri authorities previously found nine old illegal gold mining sites in Vinh Ha and Vinh O communes. These operations pose serious safety risks and threaten natural resources and local security.
