Perched on a hillside in Hoa Hiep Commune, Cu Kuin District, the house has drawn attention for its unique ability to rotate according to the owner's wishes.
The man behind the design is Pham The Dan, 47.
Dan and his family moved to the Central Highlands more than twenty years ago to start a new life. The region's unpredictable climate, with constant shifts in sun and wind, inspired him to create a house that could adapt to changing weather by rotating.

With years of experience operating rice harvesters and repairing agricultural machinery, Dan designed and built the house himself.
It took him six months to conceptualise, calculate, and sketch the blueprint before starting construction. The total cost was approximately VND400 million.
The house rotates on a system of spindles, bearings, chains, and a gear reducer. Its rotating axis is mounted on a reinforced steel frame that supports the entire wooden structure.

Although the house weighs only around 15 tonnes, it can withstand a load of up to 30 tonnes.
After a year of construction, Dan's rotating house was completed, astonishing his family and neighbours.
Now, 20 years later, despite some rust on the rotating mechanism, the house can still rotate smoothly with a gentle push from a person, turning in any direction desired.
Many people have visited Dan to learn from his experience, but he has kept the design exclusive to his family.
Looking ahead, Dan plans to replace the wooden structure with a more durable concrete house that will retain the ability to rotate and be operated by a smart remote-control system.
