Vietnam’s Party Chief To Lam attends Russia’s Victory Day parade

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, his spouse, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attended the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.

More than 20 heads of state, government leaders, senior delegations, and war veterans from around the world were invited to join this year’s Victory Day parade on Moscow’s Red Square, held on May 9.

For the first time, the Vietnam People’s Army sent a contingent of 86 officers and soldiers to participate in the parade. On Red Square, the Vietnamese national flag flew proudly alongside the flags of other participating countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, and members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), among others.

Following the military parade, General Secretary To Lam and heads of delegations took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden, adjacent to the Kremlin Wall.
