The incident occurred at approximately 5.30 pm as Flight VJ1149, operating on the Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City route, was landing on Runway 25R. According to VietJet Air, the aircraft encountered strong crosswinds during its final approach and touched down amid heavy rain and thunderstorms.
As a result, the plane veered off the runway, causing cracks in the tires and damage to runway edge lights on both sides. Grass was also found lodged in the landing gear.
The flight crew responded in accordance with standard safety protocols, and no injuries were reported.
VietJet Air has filed an official report with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and is cooperating with relevant agencies to investigate the cause of the incident.
