According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, the country welcomed approximately 10.5 million domestic visitors during the holiday, a 31.2 percent increase compared to last year. Average occupancy rates at accommodation facilities exceeded 70 percent, with some coastal destinations and HCM City reaching between 90 percent and 95 percent.

The long holiday and hot weather prompted many travellers to flock to seaside destinations such as Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Sam Son (Thanh Hoa), Cua Lo (Nghe An), Danang, and Ba Ria–Vung Tau.

HCM City drew the largest number of visitors, nearly two million, thanks in part to a military parade marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification.

Other provinces also saw substantial tourist numbers, with Thanh Hoa receiving 1.6 million visitors, Quang Ninh 1.1 million, and Khanh Hoa around one million.

In terms of revenue, HCM City led with an estimated VND7,140 billion (approx. USD281 million), up 121 percent year-on-year.

Thanh Hoa ranked second with nearly VND4,200 billion, representing a 10 percent increase from the previous year.

Hanoi followed in third place, generating VND3,150 billion in tourism revenue, up 25.21 percent compared to 2024.

Quang Ninh remained a strong performer, with the province’s tourism sector bringing in over VND3,120 billion during the holiday period.
