The incident happened at around 10.30 in the area near Hon Kho in Nhon Hai Commune. While travelling, the jet ski suddenly went out of control, veered onto the beach, killing one and injuring three others.

The jet ski was operated by a 37-year-old resident of Nhon Hai Commune. The 8-year-old victim died, and a 14-year-old was seriously injured; both were from Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.
On May 1, the Binh Dinh Border Guard Command ordered a halt to all jet ski and passenger canoe operations in the Nhon Hai area after the incident.
Local authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
