The Head of Dantri Newspaper’s Southern Office, Pham Tam (right), presents a donation of VND 202,780,352 (approx. USD8,000) to the family of Le Nhat Hao on April 17.
The donations were made in response to an article by Dantri, which brought attention to the family’s dire circumstances.
Hao’s family lives in poverty. His mother, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong, 46, has a cognitive disability. Over a year ago, Hao’s father tragically drowned during a fishing trip. Since then, the burden of supporting the family has fallen on Hao’s young shoulders. He was forced to quit school and work odd jobs such as selling lottery tickets and farming to make ends meet.
Thanks to the generosity of Dantri readers, Hao now has hope for a better future. He shared that he plans to raise livestock to stay in his hometown and care for his mother and 10-year-old brother.

Cao Minh Hieu, Secretary of the Thua Duc Commune Youth Union, expressed deep gratitude to the benefactors.
According to Hieu, the local authorities plan to use part of the donation to renovate the family’s home, ensuring they have a stable and safe place to live. The remaining funds will be deposited into a savings account to provide long-term support for the family, especially in times of emergency.
Local officials sincerely thanked the donors and Dantri readers for their compassion and generosity. They also hoped that Dantri would continue connecting benefactors with families in desperate need.
