At the end of the first day, Phuong Hong's group rested at a shelter about 2,500 metres above sea level. With no electricity or phone signal, the place offered a rare opportunity to disconnect and immerse oneself in nature.

After just a few hours of sleep, the group woke at 3 am to tackle the final one-kilometre stretch, with an elevation gain of nearly 500 metres. "It's a short distance but incredibly steep, so it took us nearly two hours to get through," one team member said.

By 6 am, the group had reached the summit of Nhiu Co San Mountain.
