Visitors drive to a meeting point around 10 kilometres from Nhiu Co San Village in Sang Ma Sao Commune to reach the peak. The rough, rocky road and steep slopes make the ride exciting and unforgettable.

Nhiu Co San Village is an ideal starting point, with its untouched scenery and clusters of ancient peach trees. On sunny days, tourists can take stunning photos of nature's beauty.

Phuong Hong and her friends from Hanoi visited Nhiu Co San for two days and one night. The weather was unfavourable, with rain soaking Bat Xat District for a week before the trip. Still, the team remained determined to conquer the summit.

They stopped for lunch at Ong Chua Waterfall before continuing their trek through the forest to reach their overnight shelter.

Trekking Nhiu Co San on rainy days requires more effort. Visitors must move cautiously along steep and slippery slopes with loose rocks.

However, the trail through pristine forests and hills covered with cardamom plants is exciting and eases fatigue.

Rhododendron season lasts from February to April on Nhiu Co San Mountain

At the end of the first day, Phuong Hong's group rested at a shelter about 2,500 metres above sea level. With no electricity or phone signal, the place offered a rare opportunity to disconnect and immerse oneself in nature.

After just a few hours of sleep, the group woke at 3 am to tackle the final one-kilometre stretch, with an elevation gain of nearly 500 metres. "It's a short distance but incredibly steep, so it took us nearly two hours to get through," one team member said.

By 6 am, the group had reached the summit of Nhiu Co San Mountain.

According to many travellers, good physical preparation and stamina are essential to avoid cramps and muscle strain during the Nhiu Co San Mountain trek.
