According to a representative of Vietnam Railways (VNR), more than 76,000 train tickets had been sold by April 17, 60 percent of the total tickets offered for the Reunification Day (30/4)- May 1 holiday period.
Passenger demand is highest on April 29-30, with travellers departing from Hanoi and HCM City to popular tourist sites and returning in the opposite direction on May 2-4.
Notably, tickets on two Reunification trains have been fully booked.
On the evening of April 29, train SE1 will depart from Hanoi Station, while train SE4 will set off from Saigon Station. The two trains are scheduled to meet at noon on April 30 at Danang Station.
VNR will present surprise gifts to passengers on both trains, which are not merely rides but meaningful journeys through history, encouraging reflection on the past and appreciation for today's peace.
To mark Reunification Day, VNR offers a 40 percent ticket discount from April 24 to May 9 to war invalids, veterans, and relatives of those who contributed to the revolution. Tickets are available at railway stations, and eligible passengers must present valid documents when purchasing and boarding.
